Local Products Consumption Being BUMN Indicator

JAKARTA: The Government encourages all state enterprises to prioritize the use of local products and make it as one measure of performance directors.
"I will make [the use of local products by the state] as one of SOE performance assessment. More and more use of domestic products, the more the scores," said State Minister of SOEs Mustafa Abubakar after the reception, birthday 24 Bisnis Indonesia as well as the evening peak Original Gift Items Indonesia (APAI) 2009 in Jakarta last night.

According to State Minister for SOEs, currently there are 121 clues and indicators used in assessing the performance of SOEs, but it will be added to other indicators of the percentage of use of local products.

When giving a speech at the show too, he underlined the importance of state enterprises utilizing local products.

Mustafa did admit there were plans for the overall operational cost savings from last year's state-owned Rp962, 77 trillion to Rp836, 34 trillion this year. However, on the other side of the capital expenditure increased from Rp128, 32 trillion a year ago to Rp152, 05 trillion for 2009.

With the increase in capital expenditures, the expected utilization of local content has increased as well.

He reminded all that at the time of having to compete with foreign products, local products just have to keep showing the advantages in the domestic market.

At the event last night, Bisnis Indonesia APAI 2009 to deliver 12 products and services.

APAI 2009 held a fourth time since 2006. Besides attended by State Minister of SOEs, Muhaimin Iskandar minister also attended the event.
